As the six adventures look around the Twins Bar, there are two changelings to the north, one blue one red, 23 tables each with a cat folk and a tango sitting at each table, and another pair of cat folk and tango walk in the bar behind them. The adventures go up to the bar and strike up a conversation with the two twin bartenders. The blue one is very talkative while the red one seems to only communicate in head gestures. The adventurers are able to figure out that they need to give two of the papers to a Mr. Cobak and a Mr. Kycius. The trick is that there are two who will tell the truth, while everyone else will lie. With Poppy‘s keen sense of society she is able to determine that over half the room has tables of one or more females and can eliminate them from the room. Questions are asked by several different adventures with very little unveiling. Daffodil takes it upon herself and questions the bartenders with a slight diplomacy and catches the red teething off guard to narrow the search to half the room. This leaves four pairs left in the bar. With some poor logical questions by Roland, they are unable to narrow the pairs down. Then with a combination of questions from Daffodil, Poppy, and Greybold the adventures are finally able to single out Kycius and Cobak. While the party is offered a free round of drinks, Kycius challenges Roland to a friendly shootout of shot glasses. Kycius sees behind Roland’s vail and offers Roland training to help him in his shooting tactics.
Kycius and Cobak are questioned about New York. They convey that the adventures are just starting out and that New York has been beneficial to them. They are currently a party of 12 but they originally started out as two parties of eight on different paths. Four of them are no longer apart of New York. They admit that they are the tricksters of the party and everyone involved in this “find the right pair” enjoys playing this trick on anyone that comes in to the bar. Upon receiving the letters from Neamhni, they realize that they have preparations to do before they embark on their new quest. They are pretty sure who the party needs to talk to next and who else they will be visiting with the other 10 letters, but they recommended that the party return to Aiko.
Kycius and Cobak give their kind regards and buy another round for the adventures. Roland and Fengjiu are fairly intoxicated by the time they leave the bar. Dolly has ingested enough liquor to produce its next alchemy bomb. The adventures embark back south and approach the place where there was a stuck carriage. The carriage is no longer there, and with cautious movement down the road Fengjiu caught site of two goblins harvesting the dead boar killed by the mysterious look alike figures. Fengjiu, yells out “Goblins” and transforms into her humanoid form. Rollins intoxicated state causes him to miss his shots. While everyone else rushes into battle, Graybold attempts a telekinetic projectile and misses the goblins by over a head length. Fengjiu is able to move into position and hurt one of the goblins with her foxfire. Daffodil uses their mushroom patch and dazes both goblins. The goblins seem to be having an amazing mushroom trip. Neamhni charges in and cleaves one of the goblins in half from head to toe.
The remaining goblin steps out of the mushroom patch and is able to clear its eyes and get enough clarity to realize that this is a losing fight. They proceed to run in the direction of two more goblins that were just hidden outside of view of the adventures. Poppy runs into position and proceeds to fire two bolts at the running goblin. The goblin has an ever so slight flashback of an euphoric feeling just as the bolt pierces through its temple. The goblin collapses to the ground. The other two goblins turn and run into the forest. They disappear between the trees. The adventures scavenge the two goblin bodies and Greybold takes two dog slicers.
The adventures complete the rest of the journey back to Moonlight Willow, where they find that another day of music and festivities have proceeded. By the time they arrived, Mystic Harmony should have been on stage. There is another band in their place. Aiko sees the party’s confusion but also realizes that they made it to the Twins Bar and were able to find Cobak and Kycius. She asked the adventurers to tell her all about their little adventure and then she can explain what’s been going on.
